Biography

Bongekile Joyce Mbanjwa was born 1962 in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. She is most well known for her collection Emotional Pain (Izinhlungu Zomphefumulo) published in Zulu and English. She attended the South African Council for Social Service Professions, University of Natal, KwaZulu-Natal Sign Language Academy and UNISA. She continued on to become a social services worker. Her stories and poems have been published in various venues, including Botsotso 13 and the anthology of women’s poetry and photography, Isis X.
