Biography
Born in 1880, C. Louis Leipoldt was a South African poet, doctor, reporter, and food expert. Alongside Jan Celliers, he was one of the leading writers in the poetry of the Second Afrikaans Movement. Leipoldt wrote nature poetry considering the landscapes of South Africa, especially Hantam. Much of his poetry was also inspired by the suffering of the Second Boer War.
